Travelling from Dubai & the Gulf
Nepal from Dubai & the Gulf
With a direct Dubai–Pokhara air route now available, here's how to plan a Pokhara-first Nepal trip — for Dubai-based travellers and anyone transiting the Gulf.
Why this matters now
A direct Dubai–Pokhara air route has opened up a genuinely new way to reach Nepal — landing straight into our home city, the Annapurna foothills and Phewa Lake, instead of routing everyone through Kathmandu first. For travellers based in Dubai, or connecting through Dubai from Europe, Africa or elsewhere in the Gulf, that means a shorter path to the mountains.
Flight routes and schedules change, and we're not an airline — please confirm current timings, frequency and baggage rules directly with the operating airline or a travel agent before booking flights. Our guide below links to official sources for the latest status.
A Pokhara-first itinerary
Landing in Pokhara first flips the usual Nepal route around. Instead of starting in Kathmandu's traffic and heritage sites, you begin lakeside, with the Annapurna range in view from your first morning — then head onward to Kathmandu, Chitwan or Lumbini if your schedule allows, or fly home directly from Pokhara or Kathmandu.
- Short Pokhara & Annapurna foothills trip, flying in and out of Pokhara
- Pokhara first, then extend to Kathmandu for heritage and culture
- Combine Pokhara with a short Chitwan wildlife extension
Entry requirements
Visa requirements for Nepal depend on your nationality, not your departure city — travelling via Dubai does not change what's required for entry into Nepal. Check the official Nepal Department of Immigration guidance (or with your travel agent) for the current rules that apply to your passport before booking.
