Travel guide
Nepal for Indian Travellers: Entry, Routes, Payments and Itinerary Ideas
Practical guidance for Indian travellers planning a Nepal trip — entry options, payment considerations and itinerary ideas from family trips to pilgrimage circuits.

Entry options
Indian travellers can enter Nepal either by air (direct flights connect several Indian cities to Kathmandu) or by road via one of several official border crossings. Requirements for Indian nationals can differ from other nationalities — always confirm current rules with the official Nepal Department of Immigration or Indian government travel advisories before finalising plans, since this is one of the areas most likely to change.
Popular itinerary shapes
We see strong demand from Indian travellers for three broad shapes: a Kathmandu–Pokhara combination for families and honeymooners; a Pashupatinath-focused Hindu pilgrimage circuit; and a Lumbini-focused Buddhist circuit, often combined with India's own Buddhist sites (Bodh Gaya, Sarnath, Kushinagar).
Payments and currency
Where legally and operationally appropriate, we can quote and accept INR for Indian travellers — ask us directly when you enquire, as this depends on the specific services involved.
Dietary and group considerations
Vegetarian and Jain dietary requirements are generally well accommodated in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Lumbini; let us know specifics in advance so we can confirm suitable restaurants and hotels. We also arrange both private transport for families and larger vehicles for group and multi-generational travel.
A note on assumptions
Not every Indian traveller is looking for a budget trip or a purely pilgrimage-focused one — we plan everything from premium honeymoon itineraries to multi-generational family trips to focused pilgrimage circuits, based on what you actually tell us you want.
Official sources
Time-sensitive details (visas, fees, schedules) can change — always check the current position with the source directly.
